
On the first full day since the arrest of Allu Arjun, his movie Pushpa 2: The Rule has witnessed a bumper day at box office. The action entertainer managed to register a 74% jump in the domestic market and 70% worldwide to bounce back on its second Saturday. It has enabled the movie to cross Rs. 1,200 crore mark.
As of Saturday, after completing 10 days since release, the movie had collected Rs. 1,196 crore worldwide, as per Sacnilk. The movie earned Rs. 86 crore on Saturday, as opposed to Rs. 51 crore on Friday. The surge of 70% comes after the lead actor, Allu Arjun, was arrested by Hyderabad Police in connection to Sandhya Theatre stampede case, where a woman lost her life.
The jump on Saturday meant that Pushpa 2 was able to surpass Shah Rukh Khan starrer Jawan at the box office and inched closer to KGF: Chapter 2, which stands firm at Rs. 1,208 crore. It has been predicted that Allu Arjun starrer will be able to cross KGF 2 on Sunday and shall inch closer to another blockbuster film, SS Rajamouli’s RRR, which sits at Rs. 1,309 crore.
