Sushant Singh Rajput‘s death initiated the ongoing NCB probe on the alleged drug distribution that seems to be in the film industry. Recently, the NCB got Deepika Padukone‘s manager, Karishma Prakash, on the radar after a drug dealer mentioned her name during an interrogation. Today (on 4th November), Karishma is at the NCB office for questioning after they found narcotic substances which they found while investigating her house. More details of the questioning are yet to be known.
Recently the NCB issued summons which continuously received no responses. The manager seems to have been untraceable during the time. After continuous refusals, Karishma filed for an anticipatory bail which ensured her protection from arrest till 7th November. But today, the NCB have reached her and have now taken her to office.
Karishma Prakash is an employee of the KWAN talent management agency. In a surprising turn of events, she applied for her resignation at the company after the latest summon got issued. Today, the company released a statement, officially confirming the resignation, saying, “Karishma Prakash tendered her resignation on 21st of October with immediate effect and it was accepted. She now has nothing to do with KWAN or with any of the artists that the agency represent including Deepika Padukone. The ongoing investigations are on Karishma Prakash as an individual .We would request media houses and reporters to incorporate this fact while reporting on this issue.”
However, this is not the first time that Karishma was questioned. She had been previously been under the radar along with Deepika Padukone. Besides them, the NCB have also questioned Bollywood stars like Sara Ali Khan, Shraddha Kapoor, and others.
