Bollywood mourns the demise of veteran cinematographer Jonny Lal.

Jonny Lal, was a cinematographer who was known for his work in films, Mujhe Kuch Khena Hai and Rhena Hai Tere Dil Mein, lost his life to COVID-19 on April-21 in Mumbai.

The news was confirmed by Western India Cinematographer Association General Secretary Rajan Singh in an interview with Indian Express.
Bollywood industry has lost many celebrities due to COVID-19, as soon as the saddening and shocking news of Jonny Lal’s demise came out the B-towners started pouring their love and condolences.
R Madhavan who worked with Jonny in Rhena Hai Tere Dil Mein(2001), tweeted, “The saga of tragedies continues and we lost a wonderful man – The DOP (director of production) of Rehnaa Hai Terre Dil Mein (RHTDM). RIP Johny Lal sir. Your gentleness, kindness and brilliance will be so missed. You so beautifully managed to bring out our souls in RHTDM and now yours makes its way to the heavens. Heartbroken and aghast.”
Tusshar Kapoor also worked with Jonny Lal in his debut movie,  ‘Mujhe Kuch Kehna Hai’, Kapoor remembered Johny Lal by sharing a picture of Jonny Lal from the days of his film.
He wrote, “RIP Johnny sir! Thank you for making #mujhekucchkehnahai look like the way it did, fresh even today! Thank you for making my rawness and imperfection, look natural and youthful, during the filming of my 1st film! (sic).”
Jonny Lal has also been a part of projects like- Virgin Bhanupriya (2020), Partner (2007), Main Zaroor Aaounga (2019), John Lakeer (2004), Yaadein (2001), among others.
