The dark fantasy anime series, Gachiakuta, has proved to be one of anime’s most entertaining series this past year, showing the gritty reality of survival, social injustice, and, to some extent, resistance against a monstrous world filled with trash through the story of Rudo Surebrec, an orphan from the Cleaner family. The anticipation for Season 2 is already building as it will include more battles against the Trash Beasts, more revelations of hidden truths and decay of society, and another dose of action-packed storytelling combined with more emotions connected to each character since the end of Season 1 was full of action and emotion (December 2025).
Gachiakuta Season 2 Release Details
Gachiakuta confirmed its second season on December 21, 2025, following Episode 24’s air date via Studio Bones and the rest of the production crew.
Currently, they are at the beginning stages of developing Season 2.
No premiere or release dates have yet been declared.
Season 1, as a two-course anime, was composed of 24 episodes released from July 6 to December 2025. It is uncertain when the anticipated release will be, although late in 2026 or even in 2027 seems appropriate based on history and production cycles.
There are no specifications concerning episode count, delivery outlets, or streaming options for the second iteration of Gachiakuta yet. Season 1 streamed globally on Crunchyroll, which is expected for Season 2; however, nothing has been formally articulated.
In conjunction with the announcement of the anime renewal, a stage play adaptation is planned to begin in May 2026, and there is an action RPG being developed based on the series, slated for release sometime in 2026, although no date has been announced yet.
Gachiakuta Season 2 is officially in production; likely to premiere in late 2026-2027. Further updates, such as key visuals and trailers, will be provided as production continues.

Gachiakuta Season 2 Season 1: Plot Details
Season 1 adapted the manga from its chapters to roughly Chapter 87, ending halfway through the Heritage Mural. Season 2 picks up from there and will begin telling the story from Chapter 88 onward.
The series centers on Rudo, a boy accused of murder who is sent to the Pit, a wasteland of junk that has been thrown away, where he joins the Cleaners to fight against monstrous Trash Beasts with the help of a Vital Instrument.
The next arcs of the story will expand upon the Raiders vs Cleaners conflict, as well as continue to deepen the mythology of the Sphere and the Pit, while also continuing the dystopian power struggle that exists throughout the story.
