Fairy Tail 100 Years Quest Season 2: Release details

Fairy Tail: 100 Years Quest is the anime adaptation of Hiro Mashima’s sequel manga to Fairy Tail. The first season of the series aired from July 7, 2024, to January 5, 2025, consisting of 25 episodes, produced by J.C. Staff, and was streamed on Crunchyroll outside of Asia. The anime concluded its initial run in early 2025, adapting the opening arcs of the manga, including the early confrontations involving the Five Dragon Gods. Since then, neither the production committee nor the studio has announced a continuation.

As of now, there is no release window, and no renewal confirmation has been issued. Speculation around a mid-2026 return remains unofficial and unsubstantiated. While the older reports suggesting a late-2025 follow-up did not materialise.

Although the manga is ongoing, no Season 2 has been officially announced. The creator Hiro Mashima has hinted at Fairy Tail announcements coming out in 2026 for the 20th anniversary of the original manga between 2006 and 2026. These hints are not directly tied to an anime renewal, but could include multiple different types of projects related to Fairy Tail, such as new manga releases, events, and merchandise.

Studio scheduling issues could also be an issue affecting this. J.C. Staff has some high-profile projects ongoing, including One Punch Man Season 3, which may affect any arrival timelines for a sequel.

Fairy Tail 100 Years Quest Season 2: Plot Details

Fairy Tail: 100 Years Quest picks up a year after the end of the original anime series and sees Team Natsu face off against a historic mission, one that has never been completed by any other wizard guild in over 100 years, on the continent of Guiltina. The stakes continue to grow throughout the story with the emergence of the Five Dragon Gods, other rival guilds, and moral conflicts that become increasingly complex.

The subsequent manga arcs continue to grow the lore, yielding plentiful material for continued anime production if the anime were to ever return.

As of right now, there is no confirmed season two of Fairy Tail: 100 Years Quest. Any announcement would most likely come from one of the following sources — Hiro Mashima, the Fairy Tail production committee, or the streaming partner. It’s also possible that any new announcement could coincide with the franchise’s 20th anniversary celebration in 2026.
