The official follow-up to the first Fairy Tail series, written by Hiro Mashima and illustrated by Atsuo Ueda, is called Fairy Tail: 100 Years Quest. From July 7, 2024, to January 5, 2025, the anime’s first season (25 episodes, produced by J.C. Staff) followed Team Natsu (Natsu, Lucy, Erza, Gray, Wendy, Happy, and Carla) as they took on the fabled 100 Years Quest in the continent of Guiltina to seal the powerful Five Dragon Gods. Along the way, they encountered rival guilds, ancient threats, and intensifying dragon battles.
Fairy Tail: 100 Years Quest Season 2 Release Date Speculation
Fairy Tail: 100 Years Quest has not yet received an official Season 2 renewal as of January 21, 2026. The first season, which featured 25 episodes produced by J.C. Staff and available for streaming worldwide on Crunchyroll, ran from July 7, 2024, until January 5, 2025.
TV Tokyo, J.C. Staff, and Hiro Mashima have not confirmed a continuation since the conclusion. Based on usual anime production cycles and accessible manga material, online conjecture suggests that if Season 2 is approved, it will be released in late 2026 or 2027. These timelines, however, are still unconfirmed fan estimations rather than official forecasts.
Fairy Tail’s 20th anniversary in 2026 has sparked further interest; in January, Mashima shared new artwork and teased several projects. No announcement has directly linked these festivities to 100 Years Quest Season 2, despite the rising excitement.
Fairy Tail: 100 Years Quest Season 2 Expected Cast
The primary Japanese voice actors from the first Fairy Tail series are expected to reprise their roles if Season 2 is approved:
Natsu Dragneel, played by Tetsuya Kakihara
Lucy Heartfilia, played by Aya Hirano
Erza Scarlet, played by Sayaka Ohara
Rie Kugimiya as joyful
Carla, played by Yui Horie
Wendy Marvell, played by Satomi Satō
Assuming story continuity, important characters from Season 1, such Ignia, Selene, and Touka/Faris, would probably continue to play a major role. Since late 2024, no additional voice cast announcements have been made.
Although no dub-specific updates have been released, it is also expected that the English dub cast would return if work proceeds.
Fairy Tail: 100 Years Quest Season 2 Potential Plot
The early arcs of the sequel manga were adapted for Season 1, which included significant encounters with several Dragon Gods and set the stage for a more sinister, high-stakes battle. Ignia’s actual goals, the danger of widespread dragonification throughout Guiltina, and Natsu’s closer ties to dragon power were all extensively hinted at in the story’s conclusion.
Drawing on current manga chapters that build into full-scale destruction, possession, and internal strife among the Dragon Gods themselves, Season 2 would probably adapt the post-Athena and late Dragon God arcs. Ignia, Faris, and Natsu‘s conflicts have been more intense in recent manga developments, indicating a more violent and emotionally fraught continuation.
However, until an official renewal indicates the extent to which the anime intends to adopt the source material, all story ideas will still remain hypothetical.
