Previously, talking about the film’s long duration, Ranbir said, “We are releasing a film this long not because we feel arrogant about it. We feel that the story required that time to reach the audience in the best way possible. We have seen a cut of this film which was 3 hours and 49 minutes. And that cut was also entertaining.” Further, he added, “Sandeep has worked very hard to bring the length down. We are hoping that the audience doesn’t get panicked by the length and experience cinema as its best.”

For the unversed, Animal clashed with Vicky Kaushal- starrer Sam Bahadur in theatres.
