Recently, a success party was held to celebrate this feat. At the success party, Ranbir said, “I want to thank all of you for being here today to celebrate Animal. It is a film that a section of people had an issue with, but I feel the kind of love, success, and the numbers prove that nothing goes beyond the love for a movie. Nothing goes beyond movies.”
An OTT version of Animal is also scheduled to be released on Netflix soon. While the date is yet to be announced, many reports claim that the OTT release will take place in January this year.
In an interview, with Connect FM Canada, filmmaker Sandeep Reddy Vanga lashed out at the film’s critics for panning his new film Animal. He said, “In a way, I understood their mental status and their IQ…If morality comes into the picture, then you can’t make this film.”
Further, Vanga added, “If everybody is going to focus just on the morality, we should stop making films. Let’s just make cartoons. They’re saying children are walking out of the theatres in tears, high school girls are feeling unsafe; they should not be watching the film, it’s rated A.” In a separate interview with Galatta Plus, the filmmaker said that poor reviews don’t affect his writing. According to him, certain critics have a tendency to over-analyse films and extract ‘wrong interpretations’.
