The makers of Akshay Kumar’s upcoming comedy Welcome to the Jungle have cancelled their planned song shoot in Dubai due to ongoing tensions in West Asia. Instead, the team will recreate the lavish setup in Mumbai to avoid delaying the film.
Director Ahmed Khan had planned to film a glamorous song sequence featuring the entire star-studded cast in Dubai. However, after waiting for weeks for the situation to improve, the producers decided to shift the shoot back home. “We will now shoot the song in Mumbai. It’s a glamorous song with the entire cast,” Ahmed Khan confirmed.
Elaborate sets are being built at three major locations — Madh Island, Golden Tobacco Studio, and Film City in Goregaon. Production designer Sailesh Mhadik is leading the effort to recreate nightclubs, casinos, and private jet interiors that were originally planned for Dubai. The sets aim to capture the luxurious lifestyle of the rich, matching the film’s grand vision.
The song brings together a massive ensemble including Akshay Kumar, Suniel Shetty, Arshad Warsi, Jackie Shroff, Paresh Rawal, Raveena Tandon, Lara Dutta, Disha Patani, Jacqueline Fernandez, Shreyas Talpade, and others. Coordinating such a large group twice would have been difficult, making the Mumbai shift a practical decision.
This is not the first change for the film. An earlier song featuring Akshay Kumar and Disha Patani was successfully shot in Dubai last year. Jungle sequences and other portions have already been filmed in Mumbai studios.
Welcome to the Jungle, the third instalment in the popular Welcome comedy franchise, is now on track for its release on June 26, 2026. Like Shah Rukh Khan’s King, which also dropped its Dubai schedule recently, Bollywood films are adapting quickly to global uncertainties while keeping the glamour intact on home ground.
