Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar has sold two residential properties in Mumbai’s Borivali East for a combined amount of ₹7.10 crore, as per property registration documents reviewed by Square Yards on the IGR Maharashtra portal. The deals were registered in June 2025 and involve adjoining apartments in the premium Oberoi Sky City project.

Located in Borivali East—an emerging residential hub in Mumbai known for its green spaces and strong connectivity—the properties are part of a ready-to-move-in development by Oberoi Realty. The Sky City project spans 25 acres and offers 3BHK, 3BHK+Studio, and Duplex apartments. It also boasts proximity to Sanjay Gandhi National Park and seamless access to Goregaon, Malad, and other key areas via Western Express Highway and Metro Line 7.

According to registration data:

  • The first property, measuring 1,101 sq. ft., was sold for ₹5.75 crore and includes two parking spots. It attracted a stamp duty of ₹34.50 lakh and registration charges of ₹30,000. Akshay Kumar had bought the unit in 2017 for ₹3.02 crore, marking a 90% increase in value.

  • The second property, with a carpet area of 252 sq. ft., was sold for ₹1.35 crore, incurring ₹6.75 lakh in stamp duty and ₹30,000 in registration fees. Originally purchased for ₹67.90 lakh in 2017, it appreciated by 99%.

Square Yards Data Intelligence shows Oberoi Sky City has recorded 100 resale transactions between August 2024 and July 2025, with a cumulative value of ₹428 crore. The average resale price in the project stands at ₹47,800 per sq. ft.

Interestingly, Bollywood veterans Amitabh Bachchan and Abhishek Bachchan also invested in Oberoi Sky City in May 2024, according to Square Yards’ analysis of IGR data.

Akshay Kumar, a recipient of the Padma Shri and National Film Award for Best Actor (2017), continues to make strategic real estate decisions alongside his thriving film career. His property sales reflect the growing appeal of Borivali East as a high-potential investment destination in Mumbai.
