Aditya Roy Kapur has been in the spotlight recently due to rumors surrounding his alleged breakup with actress Ananya Panday. In an exclusive interview with Lifestyle Asia India, the actor shared his thoughts on navigating the highs and lows of social media, emphasizing the importance of filtering out unnecessary noise.
Reflecting on his approach to privacy, Aditya said, “I guess I’ve always been quiet about my personal life. That’s the way I like it. I’ve never really found the need or the urge or the want to have people know all about me and my personal life. So maybe that’s why I keep stuff to myself rather than, you know, put it all out there.”
Addressing the constant flow of feedback on social media, he added, “I feel like, why let it in? Why do I have to spend time processing some rubbish that I don’t need to? It’s not helping me. It’s almost become a sport now where people know that their opinions can be out there and find it necessary to have opinions. They just want to say something about everything.”
Aditya also touched on the perception that he doesn’t care about public opinion, attributing it to his minimal social media presence. He recalled discussing this on Karan Johar’s show, Koffee with Karan, stating, “I do not really read what people say about me. It is not necessary to get into the granular level of every comment because there are going to be people that like you and people that don’t.”
Earlier reports from ETimes in May suggested that Aditya and Ananya parted ways in March this year. A source close to the couple revealed that the actors are making efforts to move on while maintaining a friendly relationship. “They broke up almost a month ago. They were going quite well, and the breakup came as a shock to all of us. They are cordial with each other. Ananya is trying to move on; of course, there’s hurt. She is spending time with her new furry friend. Aditya is also trying to deal with the situation maturely,” the source said.
Rumors of a relationship between Aditya and Ananya first emerged in 2022 when they appeared together at Kriti Sanon’s Diwali party. Filmmaker Karan Johar further fueled speculation during his show, Koffee With Karan, by hinting at their romantic involvement. Since then, the pair have been spotted together at various public events, including airports and vacations abroad.
