Harpal Singh, who is an accused in the firing incident outside Salman Khan’s residence, on Wednesday accused a prison doctor of asking him for money to treat his fractured finger.
He made the allegation before judge B D Shelke as he was produced before the special court for Maharashtra Control of Organized Crime Act (MCOCA) through video link.
The court directed the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) of Taloja jail, where Harpal is lodged to submit a report. It also asked the jail authorities to provide him with necessary treatment.
Two motorcycle-borne men fired five rounds at 1.40 am on April 14 outside Galaxy Apartments, the actor’s residence in Bandra. Police have so far arrested six people linked to the attack, which they say was carried out by the Lawrence Bishnoi gang.
Harpal claimed that his finger had been fractured for the past eight months and the CMO has demanded Rs. 10,000 for referring him to a “higher center” (hospital).
Mohammad Chaudhary, who is another accused in this case, informed the court of an infection in his right leg. The CMO was directed by the court to treat him.
