Zydus Wellness Limited has announced that its step-down wholly owned subsidiary, Comfort Click Limited (CCL) in the United Kingdom, has been issued a penalty by the Spanish Tax Authority. The penalty, amounting to EUR 19,472.57, pertains to alleged unpaid value added tax (VAT) for the first quarter of 2021. The issue arose due to an incorrect mapping of VAT payment to an old VAT instead of a new one.
The notification of this penalty was received by CCL on April 3, 2026, at 3:15 p.m. Despite the penalty, CCL maintains that it has strong grounds to contest the order and intends to appeal against it. The company has stated that there is no immediate impact on its financial, operational, or other activities due to this order. The eventual impact will depend on the final tax liability determined, including any additional penalties.
Zydus Wellness has assured stakeholders that the matter is being addressed and that CCL is taking necessary steps to resolve the issue with the Spanish Tax Authority.
