Zomato has reportedly let go of around 600 customer support associates, just a year after hiring them under its Zomato Associate Accelerator Program (ZAAP), according to Moneycontrol. The move comes as the company witnesses slowing growth in its core food delivery business and rising losses in its quick commerce arm, Blinkit.

The ZAAP initiative had onboarded nearly 1,500 contractual employees last year, promising potential transitions into full-time roles across sales, operations, program management, supply chain, and other departments within 12 months. However, a significant portion of these associates were not offered renewals upon the completion of their contracts, the report added.

The layoffs reflect a strategic recalibration as Zomato adapts to changing market dynamics and streamlines operations amid tighter margins.
