Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited (TPREL), a subsidiary of Tata Power Company Limited, commissioned 752 megawatts (MW) of solar projects during the first quarter of the financial year 2025–26 (Q1 FY26). This marks a record quarterly addition, reflecting a 112% increase over the 354 MW installed in Q1 FY25.

With this commissioning, Tata Power Renewables’ total utility-scale operational capacity has reached 5.6 gigawatts (GW), comprising 4.6 GW of solar and 1 GW of wind projects. The company has outlined plans to commission an additional 1.7 GW of utility-owned capacity and 1 GW of third-party projects during FY26.

The firm has stated that the growth in capacity has been supported by its project execution capabilities, including supply chain management, vendor partnerships, and cost-optimisation strategies.

Tata Power aims to reach a total operational renewable capacity of 7.3 GW by the end of FY26, with 5.6 GW of solar and 1.7 GW of wind.

TPREL’s expanded capacity contributes to India’s broader renewable energy goals and supports the country’s transition to clean energy sources.

Tata Power, the parent company, operates a diversified power portfolio of 15.7 GW, with 6.9 GW from clean energy, and has committed to achieving carbon neutrality before 2045.
