Tanla Platforms Limited, a leading Communications Platform as a Service (CPaaS) provider in India, has introduced a new module called Registration.ai under its Trubloq platform. This announcement, made at the Global Fintech Festival in Mumbai, responds to the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India’s (TRAI) recent directives aimed at tackling the misuse of messaging services and protecting consumers from fraud.

The TRAI directive, issued on August 20, 2024, has spurred Tanla to become the first company to implement a solution aligned with these new regulations. Research indicates that phishing in India is a significant threat, ranking third globally, with SMS being the main source of scams. These attacks often migrate to other channels like voice and OTT messaging.

Registration.ai is designed to comply with the latest regulatory standards and improve user experience. Key features include:

  • Registration: It provides comprehensive registration and whitelisting of CTAs (URLs, phone numbers, WhatsApp links) on the DLT platform, using AI to protect against spoofing and brand identity theft.
  • URL Shortener: This feature offers a secure and traceable URL shortening service within the DLT system.
  • Scrubbing: It blocks SMS messages containing non-whitelisted CTAs to prevent scams and protect users.

On Wednesday morning, Tanla’s shares were trading nearly 1% higher at ₹985.75 on the NSE.
