It had been announced by Amazon that Shein would be re-launched in India during their annual Prime Day sale, which has been scheduled to start on July 26 at midnight and continue until July 27. Shein has occupied one of the top spots on social media and has led to a series of hilarious meme trend on its comeback.
The headquarters of Shein are in China, and the app was banned by the Indian Government in June the previous error along with the many other Chinese apps including Tiktok. These Chinese apps had been banned by India in the wake of the border disputes in Ladakh after a violent face off between the Indian and Chinese armies.
However, the social media users have posted memes from various films and already famous meme characters to express their happiness over the return of Shein in the Indian market.
The memes were made for the girl’s point of view and how they would react on the re-launch of thr Shein app. Movie templates from movies like Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham, Hera Pheri and Tere Naam were used to express the joy over the apps comeback to India.
Many other memes had been shared so far to describe the reaction of the other e-commerce websites on the return of Shein in India.
On Amazon, Shein would be launched as a seller and not as a dependent platform like it was before.
In 2020, the Indian government released a statement saying that the Chinese apps engaged in activities that were prejudicial to the sovereignty, integrity and defence of India, and apart from India, Taiwan also banned a few Chinese apps and so did Germany as they banned Zoom app.
