
Renault has gifted A Kiger SUV each to India’s pride, Olympics medalist wrestlers Ravi Kumar Dahiya and Bajrang Punia. Ravi Kumar Dahiya clinched a silver medal at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics in the 57 kg category, while Punia bagged the bronze medal in the 65 kg category at the Tokyo Olympics 2021.
This is the fourth time Renault has recognized the success of the Olympic medalists. Earlier, the French car manufacturer had presented the same model Kiger SUVs to weightlifter Mirabai Chanu and boxer Lovlina Borgohain, who won a silver medal in the Women’s 49 kg category and a bronze medal in the Women’s welterweight event respectively at the recent Tokyo Olympics.
Renault had introduced the ‘Made in India’ Kiger SUV earlier this fiscal year at an initial price of ₹5.45 lakh (ex-showroom, across India). It battles in the sub-compact SUV segment against competitors like Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, Hyundai Venue, Tata Nexon, Mahindra XUV300 and Nissan Magnite.
The company proclaimed that after completing ten years of operations in India, the company launched its latest RXT (O) variant of the Renault Kiger. It further added that it plans to fetch volumes in the country with its rich product portfolio expansion theory. The company also averred that it is rapidly augmenting its reach in India.
