RateGain Travel Technologies, a global provider of AI-powered SaaS solutions for the travel and hospitality industry, has announced the appointment of Sylvia Weiler as President and General Manager of Sojern’s Global Destinations business. Sojern, which was acquired by RateGain in 2025, will see Weiler leading its Destinations business on a global scale.
Weiler’s role will involve helping destination marketing organisations navigate the evolving patterns of traveller discovery, demonstrating economic impact, and enhancing destination marketing through AI-powered intelligence. Her extensive experience in travel, tourism, and destination marketing includes previous leadership roles at Zartico, Tripadvisor, and Airbnb.
The appointment comes at a time when destination marketers face growing pressure to show measurable economic impact while adapting to rapid changes in traveller discovery driven by AI-powered search. These challenges were highlighted in Sojern’s 2026 State of Destination Marketing Report.
Earlier this month, RateGain consolidated its martech business under Sojern, reinforcing its position as the largest source of travel intent data globally. Weiler’s appointment is seen as a strategic move to align Sojern’s leadership across its core verticals: Corporate, Property, and Destinations.
Mark Rabe, CEO of Sojern, expressed confidence in Weiler’s capabilities, stating, “Sylvia’s deep expertise at the intersection of travel, data, and technology makes her the perfect leader for this next chapter for Sojern. Her industry roots and forward-thinking approach to AI will be key to unlocking new growth for our partners worldwide.”
Weiler herself commented on her return to Sojern, saying, “Returning to Sojern at this pivotal moment is a unique opportunity to scale a business I helped build and take it to new heights. We are navigating an increasingly complex and competitive landscape, where access to sophisticated travel-intent data, combined with AI-driven personalisation and transparent measurement, enables our partners not just to reach travellers, but to influence decisions with precision and confidence at scale.”
Weiler’s appointment underscores RateGain’s commitment to building leadership across its AI-powered travel commerce and marketing businesses.
