RailTel has recently informed the exchanges that it has received the work order from Eastern Railway for works amounting to Rs. 70,93,58,570 (Including Tax).
As per the filing, the contract is “Implementation of Unified Comm. Infra. comprising LANInfra, IP exchange, VOlP based control comm. and IP-MPLSbased network over Eastern Railway.”

RailTel, established on September 26, 2000, aimed to modernize the current telecom infrastructure, with a special focus on improving train control, operation and safety systems. Also, it aimed to create additional revenue by developing a national broadband and multimedia network.
In the meantime, as of 1:02 pm, the shares of RailTel were trading 0.089% higher at Rs 503.55 on NSE.
