Indri Single Malt Whisky, a brand under Piccadily Agro Industries, has launched Indri Rudhira, marking a significant milestone in the Indian whisky industry. This new release is India’s first single malt matured in Pineau des Charentes casks, in collaboration with The Dram Club, a prominent whisky community in India.
Indri Rudhira is a limited edition offering with only 252 individually numbered bottles, making it one of the rarest expressions by an Indian brand. The whisky is lightly peated and matured in Pineau des Charentes casks, introducing a unique style to the Indian single malt landscape. Crafted in Indri, Haryana, the whisky combines smoke, fruit, and oak to create a complex yet balanced flavour profile.
Shalini Sharma, Head of Marketing at Piccadily Agro Industries, stated that Rudhira represents a new chapter for Indri and Indian single malts. The distillery aims to challenge conventions and explore new territories in whisky making, highlighting their commitment to innovation and rarity.
Swati Sharma, Co-Founder of The Dram Club, expressed enthusiasm for the collaboration, noting that it reflects the growing appetite among Indian whisky lovers for distinctive and collectible single malts. The Dram Club has been instrumental in bringing whisky enthusiasts together to explore exceptional drams.
Tasting notes for Indri Rudhira reveal an elegant and layered nose with notes of ripe orchard fruits, honeyed sweetness, and soft peat smoke. The palate is rich and full-bodied, featuring flavours of caramelised fruits, vanilla, and warm spice. The finish is long and warming, with lingering fruit sweetness and a soft smoky trail.
Indri Rudhira is available in Bangalore, priced at ₹12,500. This limited release is expected to attract collectors and whisky enthusiasts looking for something truly unique.
