Oil India Limited (OIL), a Maharatna PSU, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the CSIR-Institute of Minerals and Materials Technology (IMMT) to collaborate on research and development projects in the field of critical minerals. The agreement was formalised on 30th March 2026, marking a significant step towards advancing the National Critical Mineral Mission (NCMM).
The MoU was signed by the Director of Exploration & Development at Oil India and the Director of CSIR-IMMT. The signing ceremony was attended by the Chairman and Managing Director of Oil India, along with functional directors, senior officials from Oil India, and senior scientists from CSIR-IMMT.
This partnership aims to foster research and development activities in the critical minerals sector, a key area outlined by the NCMM. The collaboration is expected to leverage the expertise of both organisations to enhance capabilities and innovation in the critical minerals domain.
