American multinational technology company, Nvidia has acquired a 90% stake in the semiconductor and software design company Arm.
Analysts and reports suggest that this will come with a lot of resistance from Arm’s customers. Arms customers include Intel Corp, Qualcomm Inc, Samsung Electronics Co, and Apple iPhones.
This is primarily because this deal will bring Arm under the jurisdiction of the United Staes and might hamper Arm’s open policy of licensing its designs to customers.
Reportedly the sale took place for $40 billion.
Nvidia’s $40 billion agreement to acquire Arm Ltd from SoftBank is likely to meet strong opposition from its chip industry rivals, according to analysts https://t.co/ubLrnDdDHa pic.twitter.com/7JuxNeAuEc
