As the wedding season peaks, newlywed couples in India are increasingly selecting home appliances that enhance the visual appeal of their first home, rather than focusing solely on functionality. According to Kamal Pandit, Head of Design at the Appliances Business of Godrej Enterprises Group, appliances today play a central role in shaping modern home décor.

Pandit noted that appliances are no longer standalone utilities but design elements that blend with furniture, wall colours and connected living spaces. From kitchens to bedrooms, couples are opting for cohesive aesthetics and appliances that complement furnishings.

Nature-inspired designs, including wood-finish air conditioners and refrigerators, are gaining popularity among couples seeking warm, earthy interiors. Meanwhile, premium finishes—such as metallic tones in champagne gold, silver, and sleek pastels—are becoming focal points in contemporary homes.

Minimalistic appliances with clean lines and clutter-free contours continue to dominate urban households. Pandit added that these aesthetically driven products increasingly come integrated with AI-enabled and smart technologies, enhancing both comfort and efficiency.

He emphasised that functional yet visually refined appliances help couples create homes that are harmonious, modern, and reflective of their shared personality.
