Microsoft launches ‘Microsoft Start’ a customised newsfeed platform

Microsoft Start will allow the users to use emojis to the stories they like or wish to react to. The feed will carry forward a vast array of topics including weather, finance, sports, and traffic.

Microsoft has recently launched Microsoft Start, a customised news feed that is accessible from desktop and mobile. This news feed is similar to Google’s Discover feed. The portal will compile news from different publication outlets and present them in a single user interface. Microsoft Start will be consolidated with Windows 11.

Android and iOS users can select topics/ categories of their choice and view current affairs. The set-up will enable a  ‘Personalise’ button, which will allow the users to create the best news base as per their preferences. Microsoft Start aims to utilise the “latest upgradations in AI (artificial intelligence) and machinery with human mediation” to suffice a well-fabricated news service to its users.

Unlike other news portals (online), where pop-up ads keep appearing, but here in Microsoft Start, no advertisements appear while surfing through the portal. The standalone unit is marked with a green “Ad” badge to help the users identify the difference between news and advertisements. The news portal can be availed from the Microsoft Edge tab and can be explored by the News and Interest area on the Windows 10 taskbar.
