Max Healthcare Institute has announced that the (CCI) has issued separate orders favouring its network hospitals, concluding that no case of abuse of dominant position under Section 4 of the Competition Act, 2002, is made out against them. This decision effectively closes the matter with no adverse orders.

The CCI’s orders, dated May 21, 2026, come after a thorough review of the supplementary investigation report filed by the Director General (DG), along with objections, oral arguments, and written submissions from the hospitals involved. The investigation initially stemmed from a directive issued on August 31, 2018, which called for a re-investigation into the healthcare industry concerning the pricing of medicines, packages, and consumables by respondent hospitals in Delhi, including six Max Network Hospitals.
