Started around eighty years back with a sugar factory in Lakhimpur Kheri of Uttar Pradesh, the group has now become Asia’s number one sugar manufacturing company and among the top four globally. The Bajaj Group has expended its reach to sectors like infrastructure, Power, FMCG, and consumer durables.

  • Bajaj Holdings & Investment Limited – Bajaj Holdings & Investment Limited (BHIL), erstwhile Bajaj Auto Limited ] was de-merged as per Order of the Hon’ble Bombay High Court in 2007. Its manufacturing undertaking was transferred to Bajaj Auto Limited (BAL) and its wind farm business and financial services business to Bajaj Finserv Limited (BFS). It holds holds 33.43% stake in Bajaj Auto Ltd. (BAL) 39.29% in Bajaj Finserv Ltd. (BFS) and 51% in Maharashtra Scooters Ltd. (MSL).
  • Bajaj Auto Limited Bajaj Auto Limited, erstwhile known as Bachhraj Trading Corporation Pvt Ltd was incorporated in the year 1945 for manufacturing scooter. It is present in 70 countries and is the world’s 3rd largest manufacturer of motorcycles and the largest manufacturer of three-wheelers.
  • Bajaj Finserv Limited – Bajaj Finserv Limited deals with financial services of the Bajaj Group. Its core businesses are spread across Lending, Insurance and Wealth Advisory. Bajaj Finserv is the majority partner in the Joint Venture between Bajaj Allianz General Insurance Company and Bajaj Allianz Life Insurance Company, are joint ventures with Allianz SE, Germany.
  • Bajaj Finance Limited – Bajaj Finance Limited is the lending and wealth advisory arm of Bajaj Finserv Limited. It is the one of the most diversified NBFC with multiple product lines across consumer, commercial and SME finance.
  • Bajaj Electricals Limited – Bajaj Electricals Limited (BEL) is engaged in the production of Consumer Products (Appliances, Fans, Lighting), Exports, and EPC (Illumination, Transmission Towers and Power Distribution). It has a turnover of Rs 4,987 crores (FY 19-20) and has invested in Starlite Lighting for manufacturing energy-saving lamps (CFL).
  • Maharashtra Scooters Limited – Maharashtra Scooters Limited, incorporated in 1975, started its business with the manufacture of “Priya” brand of motorised geared scooters in collaboration with erstwhile BAL. The Company discontinued production of geared scooters effective 1st April, 2006 and is currently restricted to the manufacture of pressure die casting dies, jigs and fixtures, for two and three – wheeler industry.
  • Hercules Hoists Limited – Hercules Hoists Limited, incorporated in 1962 produces solutions like Mechanical Hoists, Electric Chain Hoists, Light Rail Crane Systems, Ergonomic Handling Solutions (Manipulators), Floor Operated Stackers amongst others. It had in its initial stages collaborated with Heinrich de Fries GmbH, Germany.
  • Mukand Engineers Limited – Mukand Engineers Limited, incorporated in 1987 was formerly a division of Mukand Ltd. The company has built expertise in areas of project construction covering civil, structural, mechanical, piping ,electrical and instrumentation works. Jamnalal Sons Pvt. Ltd has a shareholding of 11% in the entity.

Rahul Bajaj is the Chairman of the Bajaj Group. He graduated with a law degree from Mumbai University and an MBA from Harvard. He is the former member of the Rajya Sabha and recipient of awards like the Padma Bhushan.
