JSW Infrastructure has successfully commissioned the Gati Shakti Multi Modal Cargo Terminal at Arakkonam in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. The terminal, constructed and operated entirely on railway land, has received approval from Southern Railway, Chennai Division, under Indian Railways, to commence commercial operations starting from 14th April 2026.
The approval, which marks a significant milestone for JSW Infrastructure, was communicated via email at approximately 9:45 a.m. on the same day. This development follows the company’s earlier receipt of a Letter of Acceptance for the construction and operation of the terminal, as announced on 27th June 2024.
The Gati Shakti Multi Modal Cargo Terminal is expected to enhance the logistics and cargo handling capabilities in the region, leveraging its strategic location on railway land to facilitate efficient multimodal transport solutions.
