JSW Energy Limited has successfully completed the acquisition of Private Limited (RCRIPL) through the corporate insolvency resolution process under the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code, 2016. The acquisition was finalised following the approval of the resolution plan by the National Company Law Tribunal, Hyderabad Bench, on 21st January 2026.

RCRIPL is a key provider of railway infrastructure services to Limited (JMPCL), which operates a 3,600 MW thermal power plant in . Currently, 1,800 MW of this capacity is operational, with the remaining under construction. The acquisition allows to have full operational control over RCRIPL, ensuring efficient management and reducing dependency risks for the power plant’s railway infrastructure needs.

The transaction, valued at ₹ 700.1 crore, was completed through a combination of cash payment and the issuance of Non-Convertible Debentures by RCRIPL to its financial creditors. This strategic move is expected to enhance the reliability of railway services for JMPCL and secure uninterrupted infrastructure support for its power generation activities.

RCRIPL, incorporated on 14th May 2009, has been a significant player in providing railway infrastructure services. Its revenue from operations for the fiscal year 2024-25 was reported at ₹ 54 crore. The acquisition marks a crucial step in JSW Energy’s strategy to consolidate its infrastructure capabilities and improve operational efficiencies.
