The legal issue arose from a notice dated 9 March 2026, which was received by the subsidiary from the Deputy Controller of the Legal Metrology Department. This notice was part of an enforcement action under the Legal Metrology Act, 2009. The company disclosed this development through a regulatory filing on 19 March 2026.
According to the filing, the Legal Metrology Department passed an order to compound the offense after receiving the payment. The order was received by J. K. Cement Saifco Private Limited on 18 March 2026 at approximately 5:30 PM IST.
