InterGlobe Aviation, the parent company of , has announced the appointment of Mr. as its new Chief Executive Officer. The appointment, approved by the Board of Directors on 31st March 2026, is subject to regulatory approvals, including security clearance from the Ministry of Civil Aviation (MoCA). Mr. Walsh, who is currently the Director General of the International Air Transport Association (IATA), will assume his new role no later than 3rd August 2026.

Mr. Walsh is a well-respected figure in the aviation industry, having served as CEO of British Airways and the International Airlines Group (IAG), which owns several major airlines. His extensive experience in managing large-scale airline operations and navigating complex market dynamics is expected to benefit IndiGo as it continues to grow in the competitive international aviation market.

IndiGo’s Chairman, , expressed his enthusiasm for Mr. Walsh’s appointment, highlighting his exceptional leadership skills and experience in the global aviation sector. Mr. Walsh’s career in aviation began as a pilot, and he has held several key leadership positions, including CEO of Aer Lingus and British Airways. As IndiGo’s CEO, he will focus on transformational initiatives to enhance the airline’s operational performance and advance its network and commercial strategy.
