The Indian Railways and National Highway Authority of India(NHAI) are starting to acquire additional property in order to accelerate the proposal for the high speed bullet trains.
National Highway Authority of India(NHAI) will shortly buy property to lay high-speed rail tracks over greenfield expressways for the overall growth of the country’s rail transport network, as per the details.
Union minister Nitin Gadkari recently chaired a meeting with a group of infrastructure ministers at which the decision to purchase land was made.The decision has been taken that the NHAI should purchase property and that this process should be undertaken by a 4-member committee.
According to the reports, the seven high speed train corridors involve Delhi through Noida, Agra and Lucknow, Delhi through Yaipur and Udaipur to Howrah, Delhi via Yaipur to Ahmedabad to Amritsar through Chandigarh, Ludhia and Jalandhar, Mumbai via Nasik to Nagpur, Pune to Hyderabad and Chennai via Bangalore to Mysore.
Chairman of the Railway Board VK Yadav said that, while the coronavirus epidemic is taking place, there will be no pause in two major ticket projects, the Dedicated Freight Corridor and Bullet trains. Detailed project reports for bullet train progress are being prepared.
Railways has provided information of seven NHAI high-speed rail routes for bullet trains operation.
