HDFC Bank has announced the resignation of Mr. Atanu Chakraborty as the Part-time Chairman and Independent Director, effective immediately. Mr. Chakraborty stepped down on 18 March 2026, citing reasons outlined in his resignation letter. The bank confirmed there are no other reasons for his resignation.
The Board of Directors expressed their gratitude for Mr. Chakraborty’s contributions during his tenure and wished him success in his future endeavours. Mr. Chakraborty does not hold directorship in any other company.
Following Mr. Chakraborty’s resignation, the Reserve Bank of India has approved the appointment of Mr. Keki Mistry as the interim Part-time Chairman of HDFC Bank. Mr. Mistry’s appointment is effective from 19 March 2026 and will be for a period of three months.
