Grasim Industries has announced its decision to acquire a 26% equity stake in a Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) formed for the supply of renewable hybrid energy at Harihar, Karnataka. This strategic investment aims to meet the company’s green energy needs, optimise energy costs, and comply with regulatory requirements for captive power consumption.

The SPV, named , is focused on the generation and transmission of renewable energy, specifically through a wind-solar hybrid power generation facility. The facility is set to have a capacity of 37.95 MWp DC / 25.30 MW AC Solar and 27 MW AC Wind.

Grasim Industries will invest up to ₹30.60 crore in the SPV in one or more tranches. The acquisition does not fall under related party transactions, and neither the promoter nor the promoter group companies have any interest in the proposed acquisition. Furthermore, no governmental or regulatory approvals are required for this acquisition.

The completion of the acquisition is expected within 180 days from the execution of the necessary agreements, including the Energy Supply Agreement, Share Subscription, and Shareholders Agreements.
