Godrej Industries Group organised its first Assistive Tech Conference 2025 to discuss how technology can improve accessibility and inclusion in Indian workplaces. Held on the International Day of Persons with Disabilities, the event brought together start-ups, corporates, researchers, disability-rights leaders and athletes.
The conference featured 12 start-ups working in assistive and inclusive technology, along with an exhibition by Access for All, NCPEDP and AssisTech Foundation. Godrej Properties also launched ThisAbleMe Echo, an internal AI-powered sign language interpretation app for employees.
Godrej’s IT team, AI Lab and Good & Green vertical showcased in-house solutions, including AI-based communication tools, inclusive digital interfaces and tactile learning aids. Godrej Consumer Products (GCPL), in partnership with Atypical Advantage, launched the EmployAbility Toolkit to help companies make their operations more inclusive.
A separate “EmployAbility in Manufacturing” summit highlighted how manufacturing units and FMCG players are integrating accessible infrastructure and new skilling models. GCPL said it has already employed more than 20 persons with disabilities across its factories, with plans to expand.
The conference concluded with a panel on “India’s Accessible Futures,” featuring experts from disability rights, academia, sports and assistive technology. Speakers discussed the need for affordability, collaboration and policy support to scale assistive tech in India.
Godrej Industries Group said it aims to help build a workforce where accessibility becomes a standard part of innovation and growth.
