Western Carriers has secured a significant contract from Shriram Alkali & Chemicals, a unit of DCM Shriram Ltd, to handle the rake transportation of CSL (Caustic Soda Lye) to Vedanta’s Lanjigarh facility. This domestic contract marks a noteworthy addition to Western Carriers’ logistics portfolio and will span a duration of one year.

The assignment involves the transportation of bulk chemical cargo via rakes—a specialized form of freight train logistics—demonstrating Western Carriers’ capability in managing large-scale industrial supply chains. The estimated value of the contract stands at approximately ₹23 crores, underscoring both the scale and the strategic importance of the engagement.

In the meantime, Western Carriers shares opened at ₹73.65, hitting a high of ₹76.98 and a low of ₹72.61 during the trading session. The stock remains significantly below its 52-week high of ₹177.00, though it is above its 52-week low of ₹65.10.
