VA TECH WABAG, a leading Indian multinational in water technology, has further strengthened its position in the industrial water treatment sector with new orders worth approximately ₹360 crore. These projects reinforce WABAG’s expertise in delivering sustainable water solutions to key industries.
The company has secured an order worth around ₹340 crore for the design, construction, and operation of advanced water treatment facilities at GAIL (India) Limited’s petrochemical complex in Pata, Uttar Pradesh. This includes a 450 cum/hr Ultra Filtration (UF) and Reverse Osmosis (RO) based Effluent Recycle Plant, an Evaporator-based Zero Liquid Discharge (ZLD) Plant, and an expansion of the existing Waste Water Treatment Plant. The engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) phase of the project will be completed over 24 months, followed by six months of operation and maintenance (O&M). The recovered water from this project will be utilized as cooling tower makeup water, ensuring efficient resource management.
Additionally, WABAG has secured a ₹20 crore repeat O&M contract from Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) for the Tertiary Treatment Reverse Osmosis (TTRO) Plant at IOCL Panipat Refinery, Haryana. This plant, designed and commissioned by WABAG nearly two decades ago, was India’s first industrial water recycling plant in the oil and gas sector. WABAG has been managing its operations since its inception in 2006, and this new contract extends the O&M services for another three years.
S. Natrajan, Head-Sales & Marketing, India Cluster, expressed gratitude towards GAIL and IOCL, stating, “We are delighted to have secured these significant industrial water treatment orders and we sincerely thank GAIL and IOCL for their trust and confidence placed in us. These repeat orders serve as a powerful testament to the strength of our long-standing customer relationships, as well as to our technical expertise and capabilities. They further solidify our leadership position in the Oil and Gas sector, marking yet another important milestone in our journey.”
