Vedanta Limited on Thursday reported a strong operational performance for Q4 FY25, with key milestones achieved in aluminium and zinc verticals. The company recorded its highest-ever annual aluminium production of 2,421 thousand tonnes (kt), up 2% year-on-year, while Q4 production stood at 603 kt, also up 1% YoY.

Zinc India delivered record annual mined metal production of 1,095 kt and refined metal output of 1,052 kt, marking a 2% increase from the previous fiscal. The company attributed this to better plant availability and operational efficiencies, with quarterly mined metal output growing 17% sequentially.

In the international zinc business, total mined metal production jumped 52% YoY and 9% QoQ in Q4, led by robust performance at the Gamsberg mine.

However, oil & gas operations witnessed a 19% YoY decline in gross production to 8.7 million barrels of oil equivalent during the quarter, mainly due to lower volumes from Rajasthan and Ravva fields.

Iron ore saleable production rose sharply by 36% QoQ in Q4, while power sales increased 18% sequentially to 3,206 million units. BALCO saw an 18% YoY rise in Q4 power sales.

Steel production for the quarter came in at 355 kt, up 4% YoY and 8% QoQ, backed by improved operational efficiency. Meanwhile, copper cathode production rose 41% YoY to 44 kt in Q4, bringing annual output to 149 kt.

Overall, the company said it achieved several operational records across segments, demonstrating resilience and efficiency amid volatile commodity cycles.
