VA Tech Wabag Limited on Tuesday announced that it has secured a ‘large’ domestic order from Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) for industrial water treatment facilities at BPCL’s Bina Petrochemical and Refinery Expansion Project in Madhya Pradesh.

In a regulatory filing under Regulation 30 of the SEBI (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, Wabag said the order involves the execution of a comprehensive water block package for the Bina refinery. The scope includes a Raw Water Treatment Plant (RWTP), a Reverse Osmosis-based Demineralisation Plant (RODMP) and a Zero Liquid Discharge Plant (ZLDP).

The company will undertake the design, engineering, procurement, construction, installation, testing and commissioning (EPC) of the facilities. The project is scheduled to be executed over a 22-month period, Wabag said.

While the exact contract value was not disclosed, the company classified the order as a ‘large’ order, which, as per its internal classification, implies a value in the range of ₹250 crore to ₹600 crore for domestic projects.

Commenting on the development, S Natrajan, Head – Sales & Marketing, India Cluster at VA Tech Wabag, said the order reinforces the company’s leadership position in the industrial water treatment and oil & gas segments. He added that the project underscores BPCL’s confidence in Wabag’s technological expertise and execution capabilities, particularly in delivering complex and technology-intensive water treatment solutions, including zero liquid discharge systems.

The order has been awarded by a domestic entity and does not fall under related-party transactions. Wabag also clarified that neither the promoter nor promoter group entities have any interest in BPCL.

VA Tech Wabag is a pure-play water technology multinational with operations across municipal and industrial water segments. The company has a strong presence in the oil and gas sector and continues to expand its footprint in large-scale, advanced water and wastewater treatment projects.
