Unichem Laboratories Ltd reported a significant improvement in profitability for the quarter ended March 31, 2025 (Q4 FY25). The company posted a consolidated net profit of ₹52.97 crore, compared to a loss of ₹136.74 crore in the same quarter last year.

Total income for the quarter stood at ₹596.43 crore, rising from ₹465.75 crore a year earlier. Revenue from operations came in at ₹587.18 crore, up 27.9% year-on-year (YoY), driven by strong operational performance.

A notable highlight for the quarter was the sharp jump in EBITDA, which rose to ₹83.7 crore from ₹21.6 crore in Q4 FY24, marking a nearly fourfold increase. As a result, the EBITDA margin expanded to 14.25%, up from 4.71% YoY.

On an annual basis, Unichem reported FY25 revenue of ₹2,146.29 crore, up from ₹1,816.70 crore in FY24. The company turned profitable with a full-year PAT of ₹137.52 crore in FY25 versus a loss of ₹93.76 crore in the previous year.

Cost control measures, improved gross margins, and a reduction in inventory-related drag contributed to the turnaround. Total expenses for Q4 FY25 stood at ₹538.63 crore, compared to ₹473.44 crore a year ago.

The management’s operational focus and financial discipline have played a key role in reviving the company’s profitability.
