TRIFED (Tribal Cooperative Marketing Development Federation of India) has taken a significant step toward the empowerment of tribal communities by entering into strategic Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) with Reliance Retail, HCL Foundation, and Torajamelo Indonesia. The agreements, signed on February 19, 2025, during the Aadi Mahotsav festival at Major Dhyan Chand National Stadium, aim to strengthen tribal entrepreneurship and expand market opportunities for tribal artisans.
Key Partnerships and Objectives
- Reliance Retail: The agreement will facilitate the bulk supply of tribal products to Reliance Retail, ensuring sustainable sourcing, branding, and marketing support to tribal artisans.
- HCL Foundation: This collaboration focuses on capacity building, skill development, and product promotion for tribal artisans through HCL’s various platforms.
- Torajamelo Indonesia: This partnership will help expand the international market reach of Indian tribal products, specifically in Indonesia, while also fostering a cultural exchange between the two nations.
Aadi Mahotsav: A Platform for Tribal Artisans
The Aadi Mahotsav – National Tribal Festival has been a key initiative by TRIFED to provide direct market access to tribal artisans in major cities across India. The 2025 edition of the festival, inaugurated by President Droupadi Murmu, aims to celebrate tribal entrepreneurship, craft, culture, and commerce.
Driving Socio-Economic Upliftment
With these new collaborations, TRIFED is reinforcing its commitment to bringing tribal artisans into the mainstream economy, enhancing their financial stability, and promoting sustainable livelihoods. These partnerships will ensure wider market access and long-term economic growth for India’s tribal communities.
