Trident Limited has unveiled a major expansion plan worth ₹2,000 crore in Punjab, signalling a strong push toward industrial growth, job creation, and sustainable development in the state. The update was shared during a press briefing attended by Punjab’s Industry and Commerce Minister, Shri Sanjeev Arora, where Padma Shri Rajinder Gupta, Chairman and Promoter of Trident Group, laid out the company’s long-term vision.
As part of this investment, Trident will channel ₹1,500 crore into its Barnala operations. This phase will focus on boosting Terry Towel production while modernising the company’s paper manufacturing facilities. The move reflects Trident’s strategy to deepen its position in global home textiles and enhance efficiencies in its paper division through upgraded technology and expanded capacity.
The remaining ₹500 crore will be invested in Mohali, where the company plans to set up a modern corporate office along with a capacity-building centre designed to support skill development and organisational learning. This new hub is expected to serve as a backbone for future-ready operations and employee training.
The overall expansion is projected to create around 2,000 new jobs, with a significant emphasis on providing opportunities to semi-skilled rural women. Trident highlighted that women’s empowerment and inclusive growth remain central to its long-term development agenda.
