Time Technoplast Ltd. has announced the expansion of its existing polyethylene (PE) pipe segment with the introduction of PE pipes specifically designed for the gas distribution industry. This strategic move is expected to bolster the company’s presence in India’s infrastructure sector by catering to both public and private sector clients.

Key Highlights of the Expansion:

The company will manufacture PE pipes for gas distribution, leveraging the material’s advantages, including lightweight properties, extended lifespan, and durability. Time Technoplast already supplies PE pipes for water supply, irrigation, sewage treatment, desalination plants, power plants, and cable ducting across India’s western, southern, and eastern regions.

The company currently serves over 20 gas distribution companies and aims to market its new PE pipes to these existing clients and other potential buyers. The expansion will maximize capacity utilization with minimal modifications to existing manufacturing processes. Time Technoplast forecasts a 30% growth in its PE pipe segment following this development.

The initiative will be backed by the company’s in-house R&D team with a capital expenditure (CAPEX) of up to ₹8 crore. This investment aligns with the company’s broader CAPEX plans for automation, product development, and expansion in India and overseas. The company expects to complete product development and obtain Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) certification within four months, with commercial benefits anticipated from Q2 of FY2025-26.

The expansion aligns with India’s major infrastructure projects, including the PM Ujjwala Yojana, Smart City initiatives, and the transition from traditional metal pipes to PE pipes for enhanced durability in road and gas networks.

Additionally, the global PE pipe market is projected to reach $13.7 billion by 2029, driven by increasing demand for gas distribution networks, water and wastewater management, and urban infrastructure projects.

Time Technoplast’s latest initiative reflects its commitment to innovation and sustainability, reinforcing its leadership in India’s evolving infrastructure landscape.
