Thermax Babcock & Wilcox Energy Solutions Limited (TBWES), the wholly owned subsidiary of Thermax, has added a major international win to its portfolio with a fresh order exceeding ₹580 crore from Dangote Industries. The West African conglomerate has awarded the contract for its refinery and petrochemical complex in Nigeria, marking another milestone in the long-running partnership between the two companies.
Under this new agreement, TBWES will deliver four units of 400 TPH high-pressure utility boilers along with all associated auxiliaries. These systems will be fully designed and manufactured by TBWES, which will also oversee project management, engineering, procurement, supply of plug-and-play boiler modules, and supervision during construction and commissioning. The project mirrors the structure of the company’s earlier successful execution for the same group.
Thermax’s relationship with Dangote Industries goes back several years. In 2017, the company secured a publicly announced contract valued at about US$157 million to supply boilers, heat recovery steam generators, and flue gas steam generators for the massive refinery project coming up in Lekki, Nigeria. Since then, Thermax has continued to support the group through installation, commissioning, upgrades, and modernisation of its boiler infrastructure—building a reputation as a trusted technology partner for critical energy systems.
TBWES, known for its broad capabilities in steam generation, caters to a wide range of industrial requirements by using solid, liquid, and gaseous fuels, as well as recovering heat from turbine and engine exhaust. The company also supplies specialised heaters for the chemical, petrochemical, and refinery segments. Its services division plays a key role in extending the life and efficiency of legacy boilers and heaters through renovation and modernisation solutions
