Tata Power’s rooftop solar arm, Tata Power Solaroof, has achieved a major milestone by crossing 1 GWp of installed rooftop solar capacity within the first nine months of FY26. The achievement reflects strong growth momentum across both Residential and Commercial & Industrial (C&I) segments and highlights the company’s expanding role in India’s clean energy transition.

Tata Power Solaroof operates under Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of The Tata Power Company Limited. During the April–December FY26 period, the company added more than 1.7 lakh rooftop solar installations, marking a sharp 345% year-on-year growth compared to 38,494 installations recorded in the same period of FY25. This rapid expansion underlines rising customer trust and increasing adoption of rooftop solar solutions across the country.

With these additions, Tata Power Solaroof has onboarded around 1.7 lakh new customers across residential, commercial, and industrial segments, including both rooftop and ground-mounted solar solutions. The total customer base has now crossed 3 lakh, while cumulative installed solar capacity has exceeded 4 GWp.

The October–December quarter of FY26 proved particularly strong, with Tata Power Solaroof completing a record 58,476 rooftop solar installations. This represents a 242% year-on-year growth compared to 17,092 installations in the same quarter of FY25, making Q3FY26 the company’s highest-ever quarterly performance in terms of installations.

State-wise performance over the last nine months highlights Uttar Pradesh as the top contributor in terms of installations, with 30,857 projects completed and an aggregate capacity of 128.13 MWp. Maharashtra followed with 21,044 installations totalling 126.33 MWp, while Gujarat recorded 18,907 installations contributing the highest capacity among these states at 143.02 MWp. Telangana added 14,622 installations with an installed capacity of 62.08 MWp during the same period.

From a cumulative standpoint, Maharashtra emerged as the leading state for Tata Power Solaroof, delivering 41,827 installations and a total capacity of 855.21 MWp. Gujarat followed with 31,624 installations aggregating to 525.81 MWp. Tamil Nadu contributed 8,633 installations with 318.35 MWp, while Chhattisgarh added 8,068 installations amounting to 285.62 MWp. These figures reflect TPREL’s strong execution capabilities, wide pan-India presence, and consistent growth across major rooftop solar markets.

Tata Power Solaroof has been ranked India’s number one rooftop solar player for the past decade by BTI Research (CRISIL), reinforcing its leadership position in the segment. The company’s growth aligns closely with the Government of India’s renewable energy initiatives, particularly the Pradhan Mantri Surya Ghar Yojana aimed at scaling rooftop solar adoption nationwide.

Through its flagship Ghar Ghar Solar campaign, Tata Power Solaroof continues to drive awareness and encourage households to shift towards clean and affordable energy solutions. The initiative supports the broader national goal of expanding solar adoption while empowering consumers with reliable and sustainable power options.

The company offers an end-to-end rooftop solar solution, including high-performance modules backed by a 25-year performance warranty, flexible financing options, insurance coverage, and strong after-sales service. This integrated approach has helped Tata Power Solaroof build a diversified presence across residential, commercial, and industrial segments.

Supported by a network of more than 650 channel partners across India, Tata Power Solaroof remains a key contributor to the country’s renewable energy journey. TPREL continues to support India’s ambition of achieving 500 GW of non-fossil fuel capacity by 2030 and progressing towards net-zero emissions by 2070, strengthening its role in building a sustainable and energy-secure future.
