Tata Power has received a Letter of Intent (LOI) from REC Power Development and Consultancy Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of REC Limited, to acquire ERES-XXXIX Power Transmission Limited, a project SPV. The project involves constructing a transmission substation and lines, with the contract awarded on a Build-Own-Operate Transfer basis for 35 years, starting from 2027.

Key details of the project:

  • Substation Construction: 2 x 1500 MVA, 765/400 kV GIS substation at Gopalpur, and associated bays at Angul and Gopalpur.
  • Transmission Lines: ~190 km of 765 kV double circuit transmission line and ~12 km of 400 kV line.
  • Annual Transmission Charges: ₹289.729 crore.
  • Project Timeline: Transmission service will begin from December 31, 2027, for a 35-year period
