Tata Elxsi, a global leader in design and technology services, has entered into a strategic partnership with GSMA, the global mobile industry association, to accelerate enterprise API adoption under the GSMA Fusion initiative. The two organizations have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) that focuses on enabling mobile operators to unlock new revenue streams through standardized APIs, paving the way for enterprise-ready services across industries such as automotive, industrial, healthcare, and entertainment.
This collaboration also includes the development of a global Statement of Requirements aimed at helping telecom operators monetize their networks through API-driven services. The initial focus will be on meeting enterprise demand in the automotive and drone sectors, where digital applications can benefit from standardized Quality on Demand (QoD) APIs and other advanced network interfaces expected to roll out soon.
The partnership aligns with Tata Elxsi’s AI First Telco strategy, a framework designed to help telecom operators move beyond traditional connectivity offerings and tap into high-value enterprise opportunities. Network monetization is emerging as a key pillar in the telecom industry, with growing emphasis on creating new business models around APIs. According to a recent forecast by ResearchAndMarkets.com, the global network API market is projected to expand from 1.96 billion dollars in 2025 to 6.13 billion dollars by 2030, driven largely by the rapid adoption of 5G and ongoing digital transformation across enterprise sectors.
Through this alliance, Tata Elxsi is strategically positioned to help operators shorten the time-to-market for API-driven services, simplify integration challenges, and unlock fresh monetization opportunities across multiple verticals. GSMA, leveraging its Open Gateway framework and CAMARA-standardized APIs, will support the development and delivery of scalable, programmable network services such as QoD, location verification, and enhanced network security, tailored to specific enterprise needs and regional requirements.
Tata Elxsi will further utilize its Connected Digital Platform and Solutions to deliver use cases that highlight the potential of network APIs in real-world applications. In the automotive space, this includes enhanced driver and cabin monitoring systems, rear-seat entertainment supported by QoD network APIs, location-based services, and identity verification solutions for passengers and drivers in shared mobility and fleet management. These innovations are expected to create a more connected, efficient, and secure mobility ecosystem for enterprise customers.
