Dassault Aviation has signed four Production Transfer Agreements with Tata Advanced Systems Limited (TASL) to manufacture Rafale fighter aircraft fuselage sections in India, marking a historic milestone for India’s aerospace manufacturing sector.
This is the first time that Rafale fuselages will be produced outside France. The new facility will be set up in Hyderabad and will manufacture key structural components, including the front section, central fuselage, complete rear section, and lateral shells of the rear fuselage. The first fuselage units are expected by FY2028, with a production capacity of up to two fuselages per month.
Eric Trappier, Chairman and CEO of Dassault Aviation, stated, “This is a decisive step in strengthening our supply chain in India. With the support of partners like TASL, this supply chain will contribute to the successful ramp-up of Rafale.”
TASL CEO Sukaran Singh added, “This partnership highlights the growing trust in Tata’s capabilities and reflects India’s progress in building a robust aerospace ecosystem.”
The initiative aligns with India’s ‘Make in India’ and ‘AtmaNirbhar Bharat’ goals and positions the country as a strategic hub in the global aerospace supply chain.
