Suzlon Group has announced a new wind energy project order from Sunsure Energy, marking Sunsure’s entry into the wind power sector. The 100.8 MW project will be executed in the Jath region of Maharashtra and is part of India’s broader push to achieve 500 GW of non-fossil fuel capacity by 2030.

As part of the agreement, Suzlon will supply 48 units of its S120 wind turbine generators (WTGs), each with a rated capacity of 2.1 MW. These turbines will be mounted on Hybrid Lattice Towers (HLT). Suzlon’s scope includes the supply, installation, erection, and commissioning of the wind turbines. The company will also provide operations and maintenance services after the project is commissioned.

Vivek Srivastava, Chief Executive Officer, India Business, Suzlon Group, stated, “We are thrilled to partner with Sunsure Energy on their inaugural wind project, advancing India’s renewable energy transition. We aim to collaborate with numerous Independent Power Producers (IPPs) in India, to amplify the country’s renewable energy movement.”

This project supports renewable energy adoption among Independent Power Producers (IPPs) and contributes to Sunsure Energy’s goal of delivering round-the-clock power to its customers in Maharashtra.
