Sterlite Technologies Limited (STL), a provider of optical and digital solutions, has partnered with Swoop Holdings Limited to upgrade approximately 1,000 homes in Western Australia with high-speed Fibre-to-the-Home (FTTH) connectivity.
The project focuses on Seacrest Estate near Geraldton, where Swoop recently acquired conduit and fibre assets. As part of its broader Fibre Broadband strategy, Swoop aims to strengthen both retail and wholesale network capabilities. The initiative is led by Anthony Camilleri, Head of Infrastructure at Swoop.
Under this collaboration, STL will supply Layer-1 optical networking and connectivity solutions. These are tailored for brownfield deployments and will support various installation conditions such as underground, aerial, and direct-buried environments.
Key solutions from STL include:
-
OptoHaul: A single-fibre Plug & Play system designed for flexibility across multiple installation methods.
-
Micro Cables: High-density, slim fibre cables suitable for air-blown installation in microducts. These are intended for last-mile FTTH and access networks and are available with termite-resistant options.
-
Optical Closures: Pre-configured MAX and MicrOTP closures designed to simplify installation and reduce space usage.
-
Optical Termination: Rack-mounted splicing and patching shelves (nPTD) with integrated splitters and pivoting trays for efficient deployment at Point-of-Presence (PoP) sites.
The solutions provided are manufactured at STL’s “Zero Waste to Landfill” certified facilities, aligning with environmental best practices.
